Bubbles about to burst!

Chicago’s Bubbles Academy, the “urban space where parents and kids are free to learn, romp and play,” unveiled its new space today. If you were out of luck and didn’t get a spot at one of the two sold out Expansion Grand Opening Events, we’ve got the next best thing — photos!

On the second floor of the existing Bubbles facility, you’ll find the brand new Mountain Room, equipped with the same multimedia as in the Meadow Room.

Turn on the water? Ok.

Here’s a wide shot of the space for you. Elise and I took the Music Crawlers class this past summer in the Meadow Room and she loved crawling from one end of the room to the other. I also met great mom friends. (We paid for the class ourselves.)

There are also two spaces for moms groups to meet, with comfy couches and toys geared toward younger children.

Oh, and new restrooms. You don’t want to see restrooms, do you? Yes you do.

Nice, right? Here’s another one.

One more.

Program Director Tamara Nolte said that due to a high demand for classes, the expansion was necessary. The space will officially open to the public in January.

I asked Nolte to sum up Bubbles in a few words: “We have a really large facility, it’s super clean, which is one of our high priorities, and we have really unique programming. Our teachers are both artists and have a background in education.”

The Grand Opening Events benefit the Chicago Youth Centers. The organization invests in youth in underserved communities in Chicago to help them discover and realize their full potential. Make a gift here.

Bubbles, founded in 2003, is located at 1504 N. Fremont in Chicago. Learn more and register for classes at Bubbles here.

Wow- Bubbles has come a long way in the 3 years since I’ve taken a class there! I’m excited to check it out with the little man this winter. Thanks for the report!
