A new family-friendly cafe and playspace will open Monday in Lincoln Park. Little Beans Cafe will offer strong coffee for parents and 3,000 square feet of open play for kids.
“I wanted to come up with a place where parents have as much fun as their kids,” said co-owner Shannon Valko, a mom of two and former marketing professional with 12 years experience in sports and recreation.
Valko and her co-owner brother, Rob Spengler, call the space a “community” where both kids and parents can take classes and workshops (starting in March), take advantage of supervised play and enjoy the village-theme toys and decor. During supervised play, Little Beans staffers will watch your child as moms, who must stay on site, enjoy a cup of coffee, make a phone call or socialize in the parents lounge.
